    go

    Have you been to Canada?

If I say this sentence in the past, can I say "Did you go to Canada? " or "Had you been to Canada?
If I make any mistakes in English, please let me know!

    Re: go

Have you been to Canada? This is most common.

Did you (ever) go to Canada? This is possible in a context where the questioner knew the person would likely go there.

Had you been to Canada? This is not correct.

If I say this sentence in about the past..

I am not a teacher or a native speaker.
