    Question present perfect4

    Dear sir,
Thank you for replying the last time & here are new questions:
1-"I`ve drawn several pictures today,I drew them on drawing-paper"when I asked an english teacher why we used the past simple in the second one but the present perfect in the first one,he said"because when talking about a verb that has been already talked about we use the past simple & because "on drawing-paper"so what did he mean by"because of 'on drawing-paper'"?
2-"we`re engaged to be married, you`re the first people we`ve told -except for my parents-Why is the present perfect used with "told"?
3-I`ve read"we`re happy because you`ll marry our daughter. We give our consent to your engagement.Though we`ve only met you once when you came here for a short time last christmase "why is the present perfect used with"meet"although there`s a specific time (i.e when you came here for a short time).
    thanks in advance,
    All the best,
    Bayan.S

    Re: present perfect4

Having established that the person has completed the drawings, we have set the scene, so, as your teacher says, we now move onto the past to give more details.
2 Because the person is telling them now, so it's important at the time of speaking.
3 I think that some punctuation would make more sense of the sentence:
We give our consent to your engagement, though we`ve only met you once- when you came here for a short time last christmas

1-"I`ve drawn several pictures today,I drew them on drawing-paper"

I think in this sentence the time "today" hasn't finished yet so perfect tense is used there but activity was finished and we know the time "today"

if i did mistake i am sorry...
