Cool "I kill the man" Question

    Hello everyone!

I was watching a movie today and, at some point, the character says "I kill the man".

Why he said "the" instead of "a"? In my head, "I kill THE man" should make more sense if you are talking about a specific person which wasn't the case. Can you comment please?

    Thank you!

Hello breno_arruda, and welcome to the forum.
Are you sure the person didn't say "I killed a man" instead?
Can you provide a link to the sound/video clip?

Or is the character speaking in, say, Caribbean dialect?

Although it's unusual, it can work in any dialect. Why specifically Caribbean?

You kill the woman. I kill the man.

In some dialects, kill can be a simple past in I kill the man.
    I am not a teacher.
