Could you please shift to A2 seat because my friend is sitting on seat A and I would

If someone is sitting on A1 seat (on train, bus, plane etc) and we would like that person to shift/move to A2 can we ask them "Could you please shift/move to A2 seat because my friend is sitting on seat A and I would like to sit with him?"

Say seat A1 or, more typically, seat 1A.

You can ask the question with move. "Shift" would be understood but it isn't natural.

The usual way to ask this question, assuming you have an equally desirable seat, is May I trade seats with you? I'm in [seat] 3B.

    Or:
Would you mind swapping seats with me please? I'm in B3, but I'd really like to sit beside my friend in A4.

Could you doesn't work for me because you have no right to the seat, so would you mind works better. If their ticket is for A1, you are asking for a favour, not correcting a situation.
