    Does "to withdraw backing from the nuclear accord" mean "to withdraw US support from the nuclear accord

    US President Donald Trump is expected to withdraw backing from the nuclear accord with Iran on Friday and lay out a more confrontational strategy.

    I think you are right because 'backing' means 'support' according to http://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/backing
