    extreme weather events

    extreme weather events/extreme weather
    What's the difference?

1.Attributing the risk of extreme weather events to climate change in this way also has very interesting implications for liability for such events.
2.Because of climate change, recent years have witnessed increasing and intensified extreme weather events, according to CMA.
    Can I delete "events" here?

    Re: extreme weather events

No, because extreme weather is a more general term than extreme weather events.
