    Hi,

Is "I'll pray for your early marriage" correct?

Re: pray for your early marriage

I wouldn't know what it meant though. Does it mean "I'll pray that your wedding happens at 7am?", "I'll pray that you get married when you're still really young?" or "I pray that you'll get married soon after you decide that you'd like to get married?"

I suspect the OP does not know the meaning of early marriage: https://www.k4health.org/toolkits/yo...rly-marriage-0

Re: pray for your early marriage

I've realised now that "early" here is not appropriate. Suppose someone is 30. I tell him that I'll pray for his (quick) marriage. I mean to say that he will get married soon (within one month, two months etc.) if my prayers are answered.

Re: pray for your early marriage

So are you praying for his wedding to go ahead within a couple of months of his telling you he's engaged, or within a couple of months of his starting to date his girlfriend/boyfriend? Or, in fact, is he single and you're praying that he'll find a girl/boy and get married really quickly because he's already 30 (which your post suggests you think is quite old!)?

Re: pray for your early marriage

I'd only say this is I knew they were looking for a spouse or had otherwise expressed a desire to get married soon, but I'd probably just say "I'll pray that you find a husband/wife soon'.
