As Phil was reading a newspaper

I am wondering if my sentences are grammatically correct.

As Phil was reading a newspaper in the library, a woman sitting opposite gave him glances. He knew he had seen her before, but could not remember where.

    See above.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    The second comma isn't needed.
