    Toxinous

    hi Guys,

I have just heard the word "toxinous" in a BBC report here:
    http://www.bbc.com/news/av/uk-englan...eating-sponges

checked it out in several online dictionaries but couldn't find anywhere.

is this an existing word, or maybe i misunderstood something?

    could anyone help me out?

    thanks!

Hello ildikodeak, and welcome to the forum.
No, it is not a word in English. She presumably meant to say "toxic" instead.

She misquoted the doctors—probably getting confused with 'toxic' and 'poisonous'.

    Re: Toxinous

I'm sure Rover meant to write "... or did I maybe misunderstand something".
