    Packing or Packaging

Chocolates are usually displayed and sold with beautiful bags or boxes.

Computer printers are usually displayed with the cartoon removed.

Packing or packaging should be used in the sentences?

    1. The packing/packaging of the chocolate is well designed.

    2. The packing/packaging of the printer is well designed.

    Re: Packing or Packaging

'Packaging' is what you need for both.
'Packing' could refer to the process of putting the things in packets or in packages. It called also mean the inner material that keeps everything in the right place.
