The USA is the best country among others

Can I say "Tom is the most intelligent person among his family members" or "The USA is the best country among others"?

    I would not use either:

Tom is the most intelligent person in his family.
The USA is the best country.

My cousin named Ann is the most beautiful girl among the female cousins I have. How about this? Is it incorrect?

It's far too wordy as usual.

Ann is my most beautiful female cousin.

Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    They're more natural that way.

And I can tell you've never lived in the USA!
I'm not a teacher. I speak American English. I've tutored writing at the University of Southern Maine and have done a good deal of copy editing and writing, occasionally for publication.

    It's grammatical but extremely unnatural.

Ann is my most beautiful cousin.

Don't tell us what we already know. We know that:

    - Ann is her name (because Ann is a name).

    - you have other cousins (because "most" indicates at least three).

    - you're talking about females (because, aside from babies, we don't usually refer to males as beautiful).

In the US, we have what we call the KISS principle: KISS

Keeping things simple go far beyond the borders of the US- tell us what we need to know and no more.

Remember to look for repeated words in your sentences before posting them. Articles, prepositions, and auxiliary verbs may naturally occur several times in a sentence, but a repeated noun is often a sign that there's room for improvement. [I edited out a repetition of the word "sentence" while I was writing that.]

I should have called out girl and female, too. Synonyms may be a sign that a sentence can be shortened.
