    (The) people who love to...

    Hi there, is the word 'the' used correctly in the first sentence. I am not specific in this case. I want to talk about people in general. That's why I think I should leave out the word 'the'. I think if I use the word 'the', it means the people have been mentioned before, which is not the case. But I am not sure. should I Leave the word "the" in the following sentence.




    "(The) People who love to travel around the world are generally very open minded and nature friendly."

    Leave it out, and change 'nature' to 'naturally' or change 'nature friendly' to 'friendly by nature'. Hyphenate 'open-minded'.

    Your reasoning for the absence of the definite article is correct. You'd need it if you were speaking of specific groups of people: There are two kinds of people, those who love to travel and the stick-in-the-muds who stay at home. The people who love to travel tend to be open minded and naturally friendly.
