I´d like to ask if the idiom "to see someone through (a difficulty)" is an Americanism. Thanks.

I don't see anything unnatural in BrE with the idea of seeing someone through a difficult time.

Then I guess it's just a phrase I don't tend to use.

I would see a situation/project through.
I would help someone through a difficult time.
