Can someone explain how to distinguish attributive and Identify relational processes. In the following clauses you can technically reverse them, a sign that it is a relational:identity, but it appears to describe characteristics, which is more attributive?

andthatthe distant savage lair [[from which the wind was rushing]],wasthe sea
andthatthe dark flat wilderness beyond the church-yardwasthe marshes

Have you not studied this yet? If not, you can easily find out from a good book.

Anyway, the terminology speaks for itself: 'attributive' refers to when one participant is an attribute of the other, and 'identifying' refers to the fact that the participants are identified with each other.

Which characteristics do you think are being described? Look at the clauses again and just think about the meaning.

By the way, we're not supposed to do people's homework.
