    There or it

What are the rules for using "There" or "It" ?
    Example:
    What sentence is correct ?
    A) There was a nice day yesterday.
    B) It was a nice day yesterady.

    Thanks,
    Mir

    Smile Re: There or it

    Hi mir,
    B) is correct.
We use there is to tell our listeners what is or was or will be somewhere.
    There were 3 visitors yesterday.
Just remember the pattern; when you describe a day it is, it was etc is used.
It was the happiest day in my life.
Besides, use it is when talking abt weather:
It was too hot on Sunday.
    Best wishes
