    Could someone please explain what is prototypical cases in english grammar?

    I don't see how prototypical would apply. Typical, yes.

    Thanks for answering. I am currently studying for a degree in TESL in Malaysia and I find English Grammar to be very confusing but after reading the website you have kindly provided, I think I understand what the author is trying to say. Thank you very much.
