hi,
I think that these proper nouns have ONE single pronunciation. If two people pronounce the same name differently than one is wrong.

Is it true that a proper noun (name) can
be pronounced any way? By 'any way'
I mean two people with the exact same
spelling may choose to pronounce the
name differently. If so, then there is
no ONE 'right' way to say it, right?

hi,
How do I pronounce " Elisabetha''?
have a nice day
"Elisabetha" is not a name I've ever heard, but I'd guess the fourth syllable is long.
Is not Elisabetha a name? What is it then? How is pronounced the first letter: "e" or "i"?
It looks like a German name to Google: Elisabetha - Google Search
You may use Dictionary.com which DOES show the precise phonetics of "popular" names along with the surname as well.
Beside, if you require further help with pronounciation & the dictionary can't help you then ask around here. I highly doubted, if you'd be disappointed ;)
