    It's difficult as I have heard some teachers pronunciating this name like this:''ahab'', others: eihab, and others: eiheib, and others: eiheb

    Here are two scottish surmames:

    Menzies pronounced ming-iss in Scotland, but menzays in England

    and this one! Smellie, pronounced smiley

    Hi, if you want to know the pronunciation of names, ie from a classic book, try getting the audio book! I also have a dictionary which has a section at the end with the most common names and their pronunciation (Oxford Advanced Learner's) Hope it helps!
