I got a new update of Chrome on Linux that seems to have changed how things are presented. It seemed less †buggy at this end. Sorry for this.

How odd! On the very day that Piscean's bug is back, I noticed that it has gone away completely for me! I can click any of the toolbar buttons before typing and they work perfectly. Chrome also auto-updated on my laptop overnight so perhaps that is linked.
It seems it can't work for all of us at any one time.

I've never actually used Chrome on the forum, so I didn't realize this was even an issue. I gather it happens when you boldface, italicize, or underline text?

I gave up on Firefox on a Macbook years ago when I experienced multiple crashes every day with no apparent way of rectifying it. Chrome works great for me, with the exception of the intermittent strange glitches on this forum. At the moment, there are no glitches for me.

My wife has gone back to Firefox and says it seems to be fixed. Still, a working browser today may be a broken one next week.
