Hello!

I am trying to improve my writing. So, I have summarised one of the news presented by BBC. If you correct my mistakes, I would be grateful.

'' On the brink of going blind, people's sight can be saved thanks to AI that can spot eye diseases. Eye specialists say that this is a jaw-dropping result. It will make doctors gasp because they are swamped with scans they have to read.

Using AI to diagnose eye disease could prevent people from losing their vision. So, it is considered as a game changer by doctors. They are welcoming the advent of AI in healthcare.

A computer is analysing thousands of scans using an algorithm and is able to detect over 50 eye conditions.

Doctors think that this algorithm is as good as some of the world's leading experts in interpreting the scans.''

Thanks for your help!

So, I have summarised a new that I listened.

The underlined part above doesn't make sense. "New" is an adjective but you don't have a noun after it. You listened to a new what?

I am sorry. There is a typing error there. I want to say that I summarised one of the news presented by BBC. Could I say I listened to a news?

Thank you.

No, we use "news" uncountably. If you want to use the singular, it's an item of news or a piece of news.

I watched the news last night.
Will you watch the news this evening?
Is there any news yet?
