    Question climate ... + to or into

    I am hoping someone can help.

    I wrote the following sentence:

    ...didn't know what kind of climate they would be going to.

    My co-worker is adament that it should be ...

    ... didn't know what kind of climate they would be going into.

    Can anyone tell me which one they think is the most accurate or if there is no difference etc....

    I see no significant difference, practically speaking. Weather would be more likely to use into, probably.

    The spelling is adamant, though.
