poses a challenge even for someone who has a knack for it

Could you check this small paragraph please?

Before we set off, check that all the climbing equipment and provisions are in order. Bear in mind the mountain path is perilous and steep, therefore if we experience altitude sickness, contacting the medical team is paramount. Although you have gained experience over the years, the majestic mountain we are about to scale poses a challenge even for someone who has a knack for it as you (do). Nevertheless, if we comply with all the safety rules, by all means, we'll reach the peak.

    Chers.

Wouldn't the safest thing be to not climb the mountain?

I have a point (as always). Following the safety rules will not help you reach the top of the mountain safely. (By the way, descents sre more dangerous than ascents.)
