    I think all conditional the above page covers is the pattern
    if-clause(conditional), main clause (conditional).

    In my sentence, the main clause is not conditional, but ordinary.
    Does my sentence still qualify as a "mixed conditional" sentence?

    The main clause is the form for Conditional I ( cf. If he goes to Tokyo, he will see Tokyo Tower); the dependent clause is Conditional II (If he went..., he would see...)

    For me, the sentence is OK with "could". Even if the company losses the case, it is not assured that the efforts will be wasted. However, with "would" it doesn't work so well. This is talking about certainty, and "will" makes more sense to me there.

    Could you explain a bit further on why "would" doesn't work there?
