Hello,

I've learnt there are two different pronuciations for "the", one /ði/ is before vowels, the other/ðə/ is before consonants.

However I find a native speakers pronounce "the" /ði/ for "the reason", as I realize that he just tries to emphasize "the".

So, does that mean if I want to emphasize something, even before the consonants, I should pronounce the word "the" as THE "/ði/?

Thanks in advance.
