Which saying is more appropriate for an office environment ''I am a Newbie or a novice?''

Generally speaking, a newbie is somebody who is new to a group whereas a novice is somebody new to an activity.

So in this case, newbie is okay but novice is not appropriate.

However, I suggest you say I'm new (here).
