    Can somebody please reopen this thread (https://www.usingenglish.com/forum/threads/270364-knob), because the only reply wasn't really very detailed?

    Rover's answer was correct. When the hair is tied up in a similar way but with the knot concealed, it's called a bun. When a male wears one, it's called a man bun.

    Yes, there are people who can reopen that one, but as Rover explained, there is no good reason to. (When I was a moderator I could reopen closed threads, but I only did it a couple of times.)

    You should know that the way to ask that question is:

    "Could somebody ...?"
