But of course I have to add [a number two, second thing] ...

Wow that's also another good question, but if I could only choose one thing I probably would thank my mom for bringing me to church every Sunday.

It was very important for our family to get up in the morning go to church together. But of course I have to add a number two, second thing (*1): I really want to thank my mom for encouraging me to play piano. (Host: And you still play today.) I still play today but it's because of her influence that that (*2) I do.

    *2. (At time 3:24)

Could you help me with these two?

What help do you need? As is very common in informal conversation, the speaker rephrases words just spoken (1), and repeats one word (2)

    Thank you for your reply.

    1. I am not sure if I heard (1) and (2) correctly. Am I right in getting them? (Did you hear "a" in "add [a] number two"?)

    2. " ...it's because of her influence that I do."

I don't know why "that" is used here. What does "that" here mean?

Do you think "It's because of her influence I do" would be better?

That wouldn't sound better to me. I would just say, "I still play today but it's because of her influence I do."

By the way, did you hear "a" in "... add [a] number two ..."? (At time 3:11)

    That would be good.

I haven't listened to the audio, but you have received feedback from others.
