Well, I see it this way: "he" is a subject, and "the movie theater" is an object. But I think there's something else!
"With his friend he found the movie theater."
Yes, 'He' is the subject and the NP 'the movie theatre', headword 'theater', is the direct object - of the verb 'found'.
The headword of the phrase 'With his friend' is a preposition; it is therefore a preposition phrase. Can you see what its function is in this sentence?
