Have I used the phrasal verb "get cleared up" correctly?

Object-oriented programming is still a confusing concept to me but hopefully things will clear up with time.

I understand it in that context.

Re: Have I used the phrasal verb "get cleared up" correctly?

I tend to think of something 'clearing up' as going away, as in:
    A. Tom had a lot of trouble with acne as a teenager, but it cleared up when he reached his twenties.
    B. Tuesday morning was cloudy but the sky cleared up in the afternoon.

In your example, it's not clear what will 'go away'. Is it the confusion or the programming? The confusion will eventually go away, but the programming will not. I suggest something like:

    1. Object-oriented programming is still a confusing concept to me but hopefully things will become more clear with time.
    or
    2. Object-oriented programming is still a confusing concept to me but hopefully that confusion will clear up with time.
