    The President scored a great public relation

    Have I made any mistakes?

    The President scored a great public relation victory this week as he was seen posing for a photograph with a herd of bulls. "You could feel the energy radiating from him," the owner of the animals said to the press. "My whole farm was like on fire. Even I who is soon 80 felt invigorated and in need of a woman."

    Why? What's the connection to the presence of the president?

    teechar,

    I posted my sentences to see if they are grammatically correct. If I have to explain in detail why an 80-year-old man felt invigorated and in need of a woman in the presence of the president and the herd of bulls, I would need to write an essay and mention all the sociological and psychological reasons why people flock around powerful politicians and how their presence affect the minds of ordinary people. My sentence should be read with a sense of humour.

    public relations

    My whole farm was like on fire. Even I who is soon 80
    felt invigorated and in need of a woman.

    These two sentences are not good. The bits in red should be changed, in my opinion.

    Really? That's your only aim here? I'm sure we've been over this before.

    I think the "like" is okay as a filler, especially if it was set off with two commas.

    I don't think it's meant as a filler. I suspect Bassim meant to say something along the lines of ... it was as if the whole farm was on fire.

    Like I said, this sentence sounds bad. I would suggest a rewrite:

    Even I, at nearly eighty, felt invigorated and in need of a woman.

    jutfrank,

    You are right with your guessing. If my knowledge of English were better, I would have written as you suggested: "it was as if the whole farm was on fire."
    I used "like" wrongly believing it could be used in the above sentence.
