The most important thing is that they never have written hometasks. They only work on projects and speak English.

What's the reasoning behind this?

Written hometasks are disliked by most of schoolstudents here in Russia. It's a great problem to make them write some grammar or lexical exercises. But projects are welcomed here maybe because they are creative and interesting. I think teaching English becomes very boring when you spend a lot of time doing different exercises. I do all these exercises while we speak English. Our lessons have names. For example one day we speak and mostly use present tenses and the other day Past tenses or Future tenses. That's why the name of the lesson can be " Our special guest is Mr Present.(Past, Future)."

Sometimes I have two or three classes at school and two or three classes at home. Do you know why I'm never tired of teaching? Because I enjoy teaching and of course after each lesson I have a break when I relax. But you know every day at mignight I'm very tired and that's why I go to bed and sleep well till the morning.;-)

Do you teach your students at home or they are from different schools?
Why I ask you because I never teach my students. I'm trying to teach them at school. Private lessons are very popular nowadays and if you are a good specialist you can have a lot of students at home. And when you teach one or two students at home the result is usually far better than at school.:-D

They are from different school. No one is my student at my school. yes sure, private lessons are so popular. But I think all of my students are equal in the chance to get more knowlegde of english. SO i never give them private lesson at home. I try do well my duty at the school. Teach them with what I have know. The students come to my classes at home, all of them are seem to be lost the basic knowlege of english and wanna to improve it. Some are really good and long for futher knowledge.:)

I usually work at improving my knowledge. I listen to BBC and CNN news on TV, I read books at least 5-10 pages a day, I read dictionaries etc. I read dictionaries because my students sometimes make mistakes in pronunciation, I correct them, of course, but their mistakes come to me. So I have to read these words in dictionaries. How about you?:?:

Reading is my favorite, so as a habbit I spend atleast 2 hours on reading. I often read all of the newspapers as well as magazines as long as they are written in english. besides it I also listen to BBC news and VOA stansard too. And I really find that by practising like that I can help my students in pronunciation. Sure, sometimes I check dictionary to find how the words pronunce. and ofcourse to help students speak these words correctly. As you know we are not native speakers so learning english as a second language required alot of practices.

Do you think native speakers don't make mistakes in their speech? If yes, you are mistaken. They do and very often. So not only foreigners but also native speakers have to brush up their English from time to time.;-)

They not only make mistakes but also they can't explain why they write this way or that way. I mean they don't know the grammar of their language. Concequently there are mistakes in their writing. A lot of native speakers work in Moscow. They don't teach English grammar. They develop students in speaking and do it rather well, I must say.

It is obviously that you are right. Even my mother tongue, some of my students always get wrong in spelling. Misunderstand between L and N. So to learn any language needs alot of practices and spend much time.:)

Is the spelling of your mother tongue easy? For example the spelling of English isn't easy at all. That's why even native speakers make mistakes. For me it's very important to find ways out of this situation.;-)

I think my mother toungue is not really easy. It only easy when you got a basic grammar and you have to come through a period of study.if not, you will get mistake easily even when you are older. And I agree with you that some mistake in english is not strange.:)

If there is no answer it means they make a lot of mistakes as everybody makes in his or her native language.
Now I really enjoy teaching English. I have my personal site and my students can visit it and I hope it'll help them improve their English. :-D

Teaching English is very interesting but it's more intersting learning English. I mean we teachers have been working for many years and we never stop learning ourselves. While teaching we find something new, something more intersting. So when we stop teaching we stop learning. But when we stop learning we just cant teach any more. Such is the process of teaching....

Harry,
You still can carry on teaching via forums, right? Go on.Many need your teaching.
