    David and Mark's long friendship

    Have I made any mistakes?

David and Mark's long friendship broke up for ideological reasons. While David was a liberal, advocating multiculturalism and globalism, Mark was his opposite. He was right-wing and isolationist and believed that one's nation is more important than anything.

No mistakes, but I'm curious as to why their friendship had endured for a long time in the first place.

Re: David and Mark's long friendship

    teechar,

I can't give you a proper answer, but maybe after Mr Trump came to power, the difference between two friends became more prominent, because Mark finally got the President who openly advocated the same ideas as Mark. I remember the time in Yugoslavia at the beginning of 1990 when nationalists came to power. People who were long-time friends suddenly stopped talking to each other, and even married couples started to divorce because they found impossible to live with each other when they couldn't agree on political issues.
