This servant has undertaken the service at/in this gathering.

'This servant has undertaken the service at/in this gathering.'

Context: This is not a party, just a small gathering of people. The servant is bringing the platters of food. I'm not sure about the preposition.

That sentence is unnatural. What are you trying to achieve with it?

So, did you just come across this sentence on an otherwise blank piece of paper?

I can tell you that in is not correct. Use at.

(99bottles wrote this sentence himself, as part of his hotly-awaited new bestseller.)

Thanks for the advice, but I don't like your attiude. Perhaps, if you're so smart as to speak wisecracks, you'd like to read my book when it's out and test your genius by trying to guess who the culprit is before the revelations at the end of the story.

You may have noticed that the feeling's mutual. Don't dish it out if you can't take it.

So is it a murder mystery? Is it the same book you were writing last year (before you were banned for being rude to people trying to help you) or is this a new project?

I have never been rude. The book I wrote last year is published already.
