    That's not a valid question because they are both correct. They are just different ways to organise the sentence.

    If the writer's aim is simply to show that one thing happened after another, a. is fine since the order of the two clause mirrors the chronological order of the two events. However, there could be contexts where b. is preferable.

    The best way to organise the parts of a sentence depends on what effect you want to achieve.
