    No sooner?

    Hi everyone...What does exactly mean this sentence? Pls help me...Thanks

    " No sooner had we gone out than it started to rain."

    'The moment we stepped outside it started to rain'.-(hope my understanding is correct).
    I have posted this similar question before.You might like to take a look at it too.
    "No sooner...than" is a set phrase where the two words come together always.
