against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places

    Hi,

What does the phrase "against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places" mean in the given context below? Could you please help me? Thank you.

Ephesians 6:12 New King James Version (NKJV)

The New International version renders this as For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

    Does that help?

    Thank you.

The problem is that 'spiritual' and 'heavenly' convey good and positive meaning but the word 'wickedness' carries opposite meaning. It's like saying 'evil saint'.

You'll need to ask a theologian about this, not a linguist.
