The band struck up a lively tune

    Have I made any mistakes?

The band struck up a lively tune and a few couples got up from their tables and walked over the dance floor. Soon a dozen of them were swinging to the music, holding tightly onto one another as they moved across the floor.

You've missed a preposition in the first sentence.
