Hi everyone, glad to be here.
I have been looking for a suitable term for describing reading material that has been abridged and simplified for children who already know how to read, but are not yet quite capable of reading the full work. Terms such as "level 2 books" are irrelevant since I wish to discuss a pre-industrial society. So far I have used the term "child-oriented version", but I fear it brings to mind an audience of younger children, which is absolutely not the case. I'd be most grateful if you can propose a suitable replacement. Thank you!
