Funny way of describing a very tall person

Sometimes you need to make fun of the people who are too tall.

In my language, we have a term that is used to make fun of tall people. For example we want to take a picture and a tall person stands in front. We say something like this:

Look at that giraffe! He is blocking all of us.

I know that vertically challenged is a funny and sometimes euphemistic way of referring to someone who is short.

Is there a funny idiom that can be used to refer to someone tall?

"Beanpole" is common enough. As the quote suggests, it only works for very skinny people.

It seems unnecessarily insensitive to add 'useless'. Some tall people resent having their height drawn attention to for no good reason.
