    Can you say it better? Students from all over the world attending any university course are invited to take part remotely.
    Is it clear that every student can take part in the contest? Major, institution, location are not so important.

    Works for me. And "taking" could be substituted for "attending".

    On second look, I think attending should definitely be replaced by taking. (You attend a university, but you take a course.)
