The word "karma" (pronounced "cur-muh", but in English people often
draw it out as "car-mah") has a couple of meanings.
1. "Karma" means "deed" or "act".
2. In Hinduism and Buddhism, it is believed that your actions or deeds
are stored and you experience something (good or bad) as a
result of past actions (good or bad).
"Not in my karma" refers to the second one above,
meaning that whatever he/she is refering to is
not destined to happen, in the sense that there is no karma created for it.
So, "a good job/car/relationship is not in my karma" means that
I can't seem to have a good job/car/relationship because it is not
in my "karma" (I have not created conditions in the past to experience
these things now). The biblical phrase "as you sow so shall you reap"
comes to mind.
