a recycle crazy of thrift item in my town

    Hi teachers.

I spent a week in my grandmother's town; she lives in a remote town. When I was there, every day people brought old things to the town and exchanged or sold them. They also bought others' old or used things if they wanted. I wrote a sentence at that time "There is a recycle crazy of thrift item in town these days".

I wonder if the italic sentence is natural.

    Hardly. Perhaps:

This town is one giant thrift store.

    Or:

This town is crazy for recycling.

    Sorry, no. It's not comprehensible.

For a start, "a recycle crazy" doesn't work because there's no noun. "recycle" is a verb and "crazy" is an adjective. There is no noun to connect with "a".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

I see. Is my new sentence natural?

There's a recycle craze in this town.

It's okay now, but "craze" is too light-hearted a word for the serious commitment people often make towards being more environmentally conscious.

The people in the town are very environment-conscious and have adopted the culture of recycling.
