[General] What do I say to someone before surgery?

An online co-worker is going to have a surgery. I have never met this person - have only had regular conversations via email. I'm also not sure how critical his condition is. So I don't want to sound too formal or serious. Can I just say something like "All the best with your surgery" or "Good luck with your surgery"?
