    Is this sentence correct?

    Both my friend and his wife being computer engineers, they know how to program.

    It's awkward. You can use the same construction but you need to change the word order.

    Being computer engineers, my friend and his wife [both] know how to program.
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
