"sea" with which article when talking about some sea, among the others

    Hello everyone!

Could you kindly advise on this tricky word? I mean which article does it need? I know when we should use the definite and zero one. But can it be used with the indefinite article? When we are talking about some sea, one of the others.
Also I stumbled across a site https://www.sciencedaily.com/ where I saw this phrase "Seawater is water from a sea or ocean" (https://www.sciencedaily.com/terms/seawater.htm).
Is it the case from my thread subject?

    Thank you for helping!

I am having trouble understanding what the question is. However, if you asking if it should be a sea the answer is yes.

Sorry if I didn't make it clear. My question was about the indefinite article and the word "sea" meaning some sea, one of the others on the Earth.

Thank you for helping! Unnecessary. Thank us after we help you, by clicking on the "Thank" button.
I'm not sure exactly where you are trying to put the indefinite article. Are you trying to use "a sea" instead of "some sea" in the part I have underlined above?
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

There is some interesting stuff on that site, but I didn't see what was referred to. Wait! I did find the story she referred to, but I still didn't see some sea. (Interesting story!)

    Thanks for corrections!
    Yes, you've got it right.
The thing is that a student of mine asked if the following statement is correct: "seals live in a sea" meaning they can live in some sea.

It's the headline that caught my attention because I've never seen "a sea" before. I thought it might be relevant to my topic.

    Huh? How about:

    It's a freshwater sea

    Or:

    It's a salty sea.

I meant "a sea" separately, not in a phrase like a salty sea. Something like "seals can live in a sea".
