Hi,
I'd like to know whether "in favor" in the following can be replaced with "for":
1. The House of Representatives approved the budget, with 52 votes in favor, 16 against and 12 abstentions.
2. The House of Representatives approved the budget, with 52 votes for, 16 against and 12 abstentions.
Now consider the following:
John: How did the bill pass?
Jane: It had 52 votes for. / It had 52 votes in favor.
The House of Representatives approved the budget, with 52 votes for.
The House of Representatives approved the budget, with 52 votes in favor.
I'd appreciate your help.
