    paid/get less salary

    Self practice
Most technicians are paid/get less salary then engineers. So many technicians try to be an engineer to get more salary, but in order to become an engineer, they have to have many experiences about the job, and study hard to learn/know relevant principles. If they want to get promoted, they have to work more and take more responsibilities.

Which is more natural in the underlined parts?

    I think "assume" also works.

I think this part should remain as it is because "to study hard" is a little different from "to have many experiences".

have to have many experiences about the job

Yes, it is quite different. It is also unclear what that phrase means.
