Cranes - Monitoring for crane design

    Hello again,

As far as the International Standard ISO 12482 is concerned, I would like to make sure that I understand its title correctly.

The title of the standard reads as follows:

Cranes - Monitoring for crane design working period

In my opinion, it means "Checking the design working period of a crane" or "Checking a crane for / in terms of the design working period".

    What is your opinion?

Re: Cranes - Monitoring for crane design

I think it means checking for the working period that the crane was designed for. I guess that means that a crane that is not designed for heavy-duty work should not be over-used. However, as I know nothing about cranes beyond seeing them on building sites, I claim no expertise.

I am not an expert in cranes, either, so I would be grateful for a response from other members.
