Even though overtime has the bright side, it reduces your personal time/private time with their family. I think family bond/fellowship is very important. People always need recharging. If you work overtime too much, you'll get exhausted/drained/fatigued, which can also affect your health.

1. personal time/private time
It seems "personal time" is paid vacation related to work, while "private time" is your leisurely time away from work. Which is appropriate for the context?
2. bond/fellowship - fellowship seems to be for groups except families. So is "bond" the only option in the context?
3. Is "affect your health" appropriate?

I think it's fairly obvious that the more time you spend at work the less time you have for other things. In any case, you could say that the more time you spend at work the less time you have to spend with your family.

Yes, if you get exhausted it could affect your health. So get plenty of rest. Work, rest, play -- balance!

Time is spent with family for bonding.

It is working overtime, not just overtime

How about:

I love my wife and kids, and I want to spend time with them. Because we're a family.

Don't be confused. Here when they say overtime (especially at the workplace) nobody has any trouble understanding.

Perhaps:

Although overtime has its upside, it reduces the amount of time you can spend with your family. I think family relationships are very important. Also, if you work overtime too much you might get exhausted, and that can adversely affect your health.
