    go to the party

Yonghee: You know what, today we have are throwing/are having a fare well farewell/goodbye party for Minsoo, but I donít wanna go there [to it] because of Jin-a.

Cholsoo: Yeah, she is always picking on you. If you go there [to the party], she will nag at you.
The quoted is from a fellow forum member's writing on Editing Area.

Would someone please explain the usage of "go"?

Peter: I would like to go to the park this afternoon. Would you like to go with me?
I: No, I wouldn't like to go there.

Am I wrong if I say I go there? Should I say I wouldn't like to go to the park?

Sorry, after posting that, I found the strikethroughs were missing. I try to edit it, but the buttom of the strikethrough does not work on my browser- chrome.

    Re: go to the party

Would someone please explain the usage of "go"? I don't understand your question. Did you look in your dictionary to learn the many ways we use the word go?

Peter: I would like to go to the park this afternoon. Would you like to go with me?
I: No, I wouldn't like to go there.
If these are your sentences, they demonstrate a correct understanding of the main use of the word go, so again, I don't understand what you are asking.

Am I wrong if I say I go there? This is a grammatically correct sentence. "I go there" is a general statement about something the reader presumes you do regularly, like: 'I go to school' or 'I work in a shop.' If that is what you mean then it is not wrong.

Should I say I wouldn't like to go to the park? This is a grammatically correct- but ambiguous- sentence. It can have two slightly different meanings. Notice the difference in punctuation:

    a. Should I say, "I wouldn't like to go to the park?" Should I use this sentence to express my reluctance to travel to that place?

    b. Should I say I wouldn't like to go to the park? (I don't want to go there.) Should I tell the other person about my feelings?

You seem to have a good grasp of the word go. What you do need is perhaps some work on punctuation.

This is url of the original thread where the quoted words come from. On this thread #6, emsr2d2 corrected the OP's writing.

The words highlighted in red have been corrected by emsr2d2.

I don't understand why "go there" is/seems to be wrong. Emsr2d2 replaced the words of "go there" with "go to the park" or "go [to it]".

Would you or emsr2d2 or someone else explain to me?

PS-I don't post my question on the thread because I am not sure if the OP will be happy.

    Re: go to the party

"Go there" is not so much wrong as not best usage. It's not that you don't want to go to that place, you don't want to go to the party, wherever is may take place.

    emsr2d2 is suggesting:
Yonghee: You know what, today we are having a farewell party for Minsoo, but I don’t wanna go because of Jin-a.
Cholsoo: Yeah, she is always picking on you. If you go, she will nag you.
